It takes a village to get a one year old to focus sometimes, but we all do what we have to for the shot! I hear apologies from parents for siblings climbing on me or things like this pic, putting Mickey on my head, and I just laugh… because how do you think we play in our house or get my own kids to look at the camera?! I have loved every camera I have owned since the very beginning, and they have all captured great images, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t always be looking towards something better. I’ve met photographers that think they’re purists and true artists because they don’t “care” what cameras they use. But if you’re doing this professionally, you have to. My clients expect top-tier quality photographs, so if I show up with my old DSLR that cost 1/3 of what that iPhone in their pocket does… they will probably have higher expectations than what I could deliver. My vintage film, Polaroids, toy cameras all have their place in my bag creatively as an artist. But as far as business goes, equipment does matter. Period.
Spring is just such a beautiful time of year to be shooting anything! We may have some icy winters, and some unbearably hot summers, but the Spring season is filled with wildflowers and plenty of green grass to enjoy.
