We usually get at least one snow/ice storm in North Texas each winter, so why not get some rare portraits taken in it?! We always drag our kids out and make them get pics in the snow and then go all over town trying to find the best snow/ice spots to play and photograph. But this year, we want to help get some of our clients some unique winter portraits this year.
Seems a little tricky right? Well we’re going to try and make it as easy as we can for you, even though we don’t know when they’ll happen. We have a sign-up list for people that are wanting to get these done, limited availability because I can only stand being out in freezing temps for so long, but also we never know how long the snow will stick around once it happens. If there is a possibility of snow in the forecast we’ll start reaching out to everyone on our list to make sure everyone will be available. And when the time comes, be ready to get them done. We may not know until the morning when we wake up if they will happen on, so we’ll reach out to everyone as soon as we know we can do them and get things rolling as quickly as we can since sometimes it snows in the morning here and is gone by afternoon.
We will have limited availability for “Mini Sessions” for these. Mini sessions will include up to 15 minutes of shooting, digital copies of everything we get, and a free 8×10 print of your choice after we’re done. Same as usual, pictures will be edited and touched up before you receive them, and as many shots as we can get you will receive them all. Mini sessions will be $125, and a $50 deposit is due when you want to get your name on the list. Deposits will be held until we shoot, and don’t worry if it never ends up snowing you can apply the deposit to a session later in the year or request a refund. These will most likely be held in Canyon Falls or possibly close by in Argyle, determined by snowfall and best accessibility.
If you want to really make the most of it, we will take very limited sign-ups for full sessions which can follow the mini session time. These can be anywhere you want local (Argyle and surrounding areas) and we can do whatever you want, basically a normal session just in the snow! These will start at the standard session price with up to 1 hour of shooting time for $250 for a Digital Only package.
All sign-ups will be held on first come – first serve, so the sooner you get on the list the better your chances of getting out while the snow is still fresh. Unfortunately due to Mother Nature playing a very big part in these, we can’t guarantee that these will happen or that there will be enough snow to last through all sessions. We will make our best effort to get these done for everyone, even if we have to shoot after dark in a nice spot, but again we just can’t guarantee anything if the weather doesn’t cooperate. I don’t have any travel plans in the coming months, so I should be fairly accessible in the evenings and weekends if we get the opportunity!
We’re excited to finally offer this to our clients this year, and I can’t wait to see what fun we can capture! Fingers crossed we get some snow!!!
